Rock to a lullaby

I have been wanting to post this for a while now, and every time I am thinking about it, I am rocking Gory, singing my heart out, and then I forget about it. I was just curious about what OTHER mommies sing to their babies to get them to sleep. I sing Ripple by the Grateful Dead, both Gory and Evan love it. 😉

So spill it! What do you all sing?

  1. I’m not a mommy…but whenever I need to get a baby to sleep I sing “Somewhere That’s Green” from Little Shop of Horrors. I told you my kids are gonna be messed up.

  2. All for You by Sister Hazel or Sweet Baby James by James Taylor are my go-to songs. I will admit though – I’ve broken out Every Rose Has It’s Thorn by Poison and my own slowed down version of It’s My Life by Bon Jovi on occasion. 🙂

  3. so my “I am a Child of God”, a LDS primary song doesn’t fit in here does it? LOL! That is the main one. watch it here:

    or I sing “Babes int he Woods”
    My dears, do you know how, a long time ago,
    Two poor little babes, whose names I don’t know,
    Were stolen away on a bright summer’s day
    And lost in the woods, so I have heard say?

    And when it was night, how sad was their plight;
    The sun it went down, and the moon gave no light.
    They sighed, and they sighed, and they bitterly cried.
    Then the poor little things, they laid down and died.

    And when they were dead, the robin so red
    Brought pretty green leaves and over them spread;
    And all the night long, they sang this song:
    “Poor babes in the woods, poor babes in the woods.”

    you can hear it here
